This year, we are pleased to announce that the chosen design was created by Diego Douglas Monsores Andrade from BRAZIL. His work perfectly captures the essence of the BioBlitz, showcasing the rich biodiversity of the region and the spirit of collaboration that drives this annual event.
The design features an Atlantic Rainforest. The vibrant colors and eye-catching images are sure to attract attention and spark interest in the BioBlitz. The photo was taken at Pedra Branca State Park in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; the largest urban park in the Americas and perhaps the world. He chose emblematic species, two of which are threatened; such as the Beach Butterfly - Parides ascanius, which inhabits the sandy areas of the Atlantic Forest and swampy areas. Another species was Caixeta - Tabebuia casinoides, an endangered species found in low forest ecosystems of the Atlantic Forest. Another species, although not threatened, comes alive with its dazzling yellow color, the Yellow Ipe - Handroanthus umbellatus. The banner communicates the threatened beauty of our Atlantic Forest.
We are sure that this banner will be an inspiring symbol for all those participating in this year's event.
